Photos With Mario is now available to download for free on 3DS, in North America

Photos With Mario, an Augmented Reality app for Nintendo 3DS, is now available for free on the eShop, in North America. The app lets players take pictures of various Mario characters, and makes use of special Mario AR cards.

There are six cards available in the Japanese version, and apparently the first three cards, with a Goomba, Mario, and Peach, will be sold exclusively in Target stores in North America. However you can print the cards out or display them on a screen, and scan them that way.

The app has been available in Japan since April 2013, but a European release hasn't been confirmed yet. Similar apps based on Pikmin and Animal Crossing can also be downloaded in Japan, but no overseas launch has been announced for those either.
