Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games

Iwata started his announcements with Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games. The game will be the next entry in the Mario & Sonic series and will release for the Wii U. It features new events - such as Figure Skating Pairs, highly updated graphics, and support for the Wii Remote Plus and Wii U GamePad controllers. Another Sonic game, Sonic's Lost World, has also been announced for Wii U and 3DS.

New Super Luigi U

More information about New Super Luigi U, the downloadable content for New Super Mario Bros U, has been revealed also. Since Mario is not playable in this new mode, Nabbit takes his place in the multiplayer mode. Nabbit is immune to all enemies but can't collect items. The DLC will be available on the Nintendo eShop on June 20 (worldwide), and as a standalone version that does not require New Super Mario Bros U, on July 26 (Europe) and August 25 (North America).
