The first Nintendo Direct broadcast of 2015 has aired, and revealed some more details about the New Nintendo 3DS, and upcoming 3DS and Wii U games.

Here's everything that was revealed, along with the UK version of the Direct itself if you want to see it for yourself:

  • New Nintendo 3DS: Both the small and XL models will be launching in Europe on 13 February, while only the XL model will be available in North America on the same day. The New Nintendo 3DS features an improved 3D feature that doesn't require the player to face the screen directly, a C-stick for a second analog input, ZL/ZR buttons, amiibo support, and faster processing speeds. It will launch alongside Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D and Monster Hunter 4U, games which have extra features on New 3DS. Two limited edition New 3DS XL consoles, with designs based on those two games, were also revealed. Xenoblade Chronicles 3D, a game which will only be playable on New 3DS, will launch in April.
  • amiibo: Wave 4 of the Smash Bros collection will launch sometime this Spring, with figurines of Robin, Lucina, Wario, Pac-Man, Ness, and Charizard. Also, a new Super Mario collection was announced, with figurines of characters such as Mario and Toad. Although some characters, like Mario, will have multiple different amiibo designs, the figurines will work the same way in-game as long as they represent the same character. amiibo support was shown off for Mario Party 10, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, Code Name STEAM, and after an update which comes out next month, Smash Bros 3DS.
  • New games: Nintendo announced a new Fire Emblem game for 3DS, a free-to-play Wii U title from Bandai Namco tentatively named 'Project Treasure', a Puzzle & Dragons pack for 3DS, a Pokémon-themed eShop puzzle game called Pokémon Shuffle, and a Majora's Mask-themed DLC pack for Hyrule Warriors.
  • Wii games on Wii U eShop: Select Wii games will become available on the Wii U eShop for $19.99, starting with Super Mario Galaxy 2, Punch-Out!!, Donkey Kong Country Returns, and Metroid Prime Trilogy. Each title will be available for half price in the first week of its launch.
  • Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars: This game will be available on the eShop on 3DS and Wii U, as a cross-platform purchase. Players will be able to create stages and share them online, and tip stars to other players who create fun stages. These stars can then be exchanged for new items to use in the stage builder.
